Associate Process Engineer

Role Summary

This role will be responsible for providing technical and sustaining engineering support for software and process improvement projects, actively participating in their implementation on the production floor. Uses software and statistical tools to extract and analyze data for current practices evaluation. Works with the team aiming to recommend and implement improvements that increase production efficiencies and achieve savings goals through software and processes initiatives. Intervenes with software development and production departments to analyze CAD Designers performance. Works along with the training department to analyze and improve educational materials for internal clients. Supports manufacturing cost estimations, participates in standard times calculation, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reports of mentioned processes.
May develop and conduct statistical analysis such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) targeting cause of failure for yield loss and improving quality. Interacts with product design and software development personnel to ensure that processes and designs are compatible.

Role Expectations
  • Work for a Global Engineering Team, providing technical support to internal clients such as Production, Training, New Products Development, Clinical, etc.
  • Studies current processes through data extraction and analysis. Uses such information to identify root causes of several problems and provide feasible solutions, counting with team’s support and medium supervision.
  • Support projects, initiatives, and improvements execution that meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
  • Apply basic knowledge of processes and procedures
  • Be responsible for projects of limited scope
  • Closely interact with software development and validation teams to analyze and implement improvements for current processes
  • Work with peers and colleagues from very different origins and cultures, building stable working relationships.

Typically:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related fields. 
  • Basic Data Management skills: extraction and analysis. Data driven decision making process.
  • Standard processes knowledge: STD Times/STD Work definitions, calculation, execution, etc.
  • Proficiency in English. 
  • Problem solving skills, thoroughness, attentive to detail and decision-making skills.
  • Communication skills.

Complementary skills

  • Computers and standard software programs proficiency: Excel (high level), Word, Power Point, e-mail, etc.
  • Experience in Medical Devices companies. 
  • Data extraction and analysis tools: Python, SQL, Excel, Minitab, etc.
  • Lean Six Sigma expertise.
  • Power BI knowledge.
