Director of Orthodontic Marketing
The Director, Orthodontic Marketing will be responsible for growing our business with Orthodontists. The candidate will lead the channel end to end and in addition to a team of Marketing and Education professionals to generate core clinical and business insights on targeted customer segments and develop and execute strategies that address key customer barriers ultimately driving customer utilization with a heavy emphasis on penetrating and growing the Orthodontic market. They will ensure proper tracking and analysis of business results to gauge progress in achieving business objectives. The Director will serve as voice of customer and sales partner in guiding product roadmap activities to managing agency efforts pertaining to customer-facing campaigns.
Role expectations
- Create and execute an Orthodontic marketing plan by working closely with Sales, in order to drive case utilization, tying to Consumer Marketing, iTero scanner business strategy and Education
- Serve as thought leader internally for US Orthodontists
- Develop positioning and messaging of Align brand and products to Customers and create channel communications which motivate trial and utilization.
- Lead commercialization of product pipeline, working closely with New Product Development (NPD) teams. This includes coordinating with Education, Corporate Events, and other areas of Marketing and Sales. Also includes development of Clinical Claims to support product launch.
- Uses data and customer interactions to develop a deep understanding of customer and consumer needs—and effectively educates the broader organization about these needs
- Leads cross-functional teams in creating and executing tactical plans that support our business strategies
- Analyzes reports and other data sources that gauge the health and growth of the business, and future business trends. Works with finance to manage the annual and quarterly forecasts.
- Manages a range of projects that support our strategic and tactical efforts, including market research studies, development of customer-facing marketing collateral (brochures, emails, web pages, trade advertising, etc.), and creation of new reports to analyze progress in building the business
- Develop annual plan with quarterly tactics executed and measured
- Coach and develop direct reports

Additional responsibilities:
- Ensures the effective fulfillment of objectives and deadlines assigned to the group
- Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goal
What we're looking for
- Minimum 12 years of marketing or related experience, dental or medical device marketing strongly preferred
- BS or BA required; MBA on prior consulting experience preferred
- Strong leadership; demonstrates initiative, takes action, and drives for results
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and create solutions to meet those needs
- Effective communication skills (written, oral, & presentation)
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to make sound strategic decisions, incorporating data from multiple sources and business judgment
- Ability to work cross functionally with individuals at all levels in an organization and understand their needs/motivations and manage complex cross-functional projects
- Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills
- Strong project management
- Leadership ability to influence others, without authority, to drive change
- A demonstrated proficiency in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint – and ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.
- Customer-oriented with a passion for delivering results and an ability to inspire the same for their team.
- Self-motivated problem-solver and thought-leader with strong strategic and thinking skills; a positive winning attitude, with the ability to maintain composure in stressful and uncertain situations.
