In this role you will…
As an Insights Specialist, your role will:
- Provide support to the Align sales team in answering questions with robust analytics and superior attention to detail.
- Extract, transform, and analyze sales data for analysis and reporting purposes.
- Develop and implement key performance metrics that help identify business opportunities and measure sales performance.
- Support sales teams with the data and insights necessary to guide the digital product roadmap.
- Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis for assigned departments on an as needed basis.
- Be a subject matter expert, trusted partner on your specific domain for your business stakeholders.
- Provide leadership to your peers and more junior analysts.
- Drive continuous improvement not just within analytics, but as a company as a whole.
- Be outspoken, and share your voice with the team and senior leadership.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Additionally, you will…
- Optimize Commercial Process: Research and develop effective solutions to scale commercial operations, minimize manual workarounds, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Be the point of contact with regional Analytics teams to assure regional dashboards are accurate, with the appropriate user interface/story telling flow and aligned with our local business needs.
- Responsible for local reports for commercial functions, leading all aspects: designing, developing, testing, deploying, and automating complex reports and visualizations using Power BI.
- Retrieve data from large databases using SQL queries mostly, and from not structured sources eventually.
- Provide training to commercial members as needed, participating in relevant training sessions, and continuously evaluating feedback and training effectiveness, adapting the communication style in accordance with the audience.
- Monitor Commercial Performance: Support CommOps and Commercial Leaders by monitoring sales team performance against targets and KPIs, proactively identifying areas for improvement, and addressing system limitations and inefficiencies.
- Recommend KPI tracking improvements using available data sources to focus on the most effective growth drivers. Provides insights using existing metrics and develops new metrics to enhance performance tracking.
- Generate Sales Insights: Support strategic objectives, lead project planning, analysis, and implementation for business and sales decisions. Conduct strategic analyses, assess business performance, and provide data-driven recommendations for executive decision-making and guiding business strategies.
- Support Sales Tools: Identify necessary functionalities and plan and implement with the CRM Lead. Foster the disciplined use across the organization. Provide training and support to commercial team members to ensure maximum utilization, effectiveness and high-quality data entry.
- Improve Relationships: Be close to various teams (through field days, shadowing experiences etc) by understanding their perspective and build effective relationships with various teams—Commercial, Marketing, Clinical Support, Customer Support, and more— across the organization to influence changes and gather support.
In this role, you’ll need…
- Bachelor's degree in Administration, Economics, Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years business analytics experience.
- 2+ years of experience in reporting and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc…English: Advanced, Spanish: Advanced.
- Strong experience with SQL.
- Strong experience with Python, R, or SAS.
- Experience in defining, refining and implementing sales processes and procedures, building reports for its measurement.
- Analytical and results-oriented mindset to identify relevant information and relate it to the company's strategic challenges. Handle large datasets and extract actionable insights related to opportunities or to address problems at their root cause, plan improvement roadmaps, implement changes, monitor progress, and report outcomes.
- Proactively seek out necessary information, hand diverse inputs and areas to achieve results. Even when faced with unexpected obstacles, persistently work toward achieving outcomes. Embracing creativity in sourcing information, adapting to new contexts, and maintaining autonomy to meet deadlines while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Communicate effectively, acting and speaking with confidence. Communicate cross-functionally with diverse groups and functions to gather business requirements, develop user stories, drive timely solutions. Break down complex technical concepts into simple business language.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams, supporting multiple projects in different stages simultaneously. Balance various tasks and priorities, consistently meeting deadlines. Even under pressure, maintain a 'can-do' attitude and resilience.
- Analyze a specific matter from beginning to end and bring simple, consistent, and data-driven and fast actions to solve problems with minimal direction. Translate data into actionable insights and use logical reasoning to demonstrate rationale behind recommendations, achieving consensus around proposed outcomes.
- Dynamic and action-oriented, approach tasks with a high level of execution. Take ownership of the work.
- Teamwork and consistently foster connections across different areas of the company.
Preferred:
- MBA or Masters.
- 2+ years statistics, regression, modeling, and/or data science experience.
- 4+ years of experience supporting sales or marketing.
- Proven track record of working effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision.
