DFM Sr Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Manager of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to lead the seamless integration of product design and manufacturing processes. This role is critical in ensuring that new product designs are efficiently transferred into production, validated for robust performance, and supported by a high-performing team. 

What we are looking for

  • Experience in Design Process Transfers:
    Lead cross-functional efforts to transition new product designs from R&D into full-scale manufacturing. Ensure manufacturability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness are embedded early in the design process.
  • Experience in Process Validations:
    Oversee the planning and execution of process validation activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality systems. Drive continuous improvement in validation strategies to support rapid and reliable product launches.
  • Strong People Management:
    Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing DFM engineering team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence. Provide strategic direction, performance feedback, and career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

·         Work cross-functionally with other departments to identify, define, test, and implement new products or processes.
·         Ensure proper documentation of new processes.
·         Investigate, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes, methods, and appropriate technologies.
·         Ensure the use and application of new manufacturing processes, techniques, and tools are acceptable in terms of quality and productivity.
·         Be part of the support team to integrate and automate new manufacturing systems and processes.
·         Implement improvement methodologies and techniques to enhance processing times, quality, or to find the root cause of problems.
·         Lead meetings and direct projects for corrective and/or preventive actions in new products.
·         Ensure effective achievement of objectives and deadlines assigned to the group.
·         Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
·         Other responsibilities may be assigned.
 
 

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

·         Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics/Manufacturing Engineering 
·         8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process development, or DFM roles.
·         Proven experience in leading design transfers and process validations in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., medical devices, automotive, aerospace).
·         Strong leadership and team development skills.
·         Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
·         Experience in medical device industry
·         Strong knowledge of QMS, engineering changes and regulatory compliance
