SUMMARY

This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of all revenue transactions related to products, services and promotions in accordance with US GAAP. This person will have a strong knowledge of revenue recognition accounting in a multi-element environment. This position will manage the deferred revenue accounting and the revenue close process. In addition, this manager will also be responsible for managing and developing the Revenue Accounting team and must be familiar with revenue management systems and reporting tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage the worldwide revenue accounting processes for the Invisalign clear aligner business to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of revenue according to US GGAP and the Company’s revenue recognition policies
  • Manage the worldwide monthly revenue close process that includes reviewing journal entries, revenue accruals, account reconciliations and fluctuation analysis.
  • Directly manage 2 Senior Revenue Analysts
  • Oversee the quarterly deferred revenue estimate process
  • Support ASC 606 implementation
  • Support quarterly management revenue reporting and deferred revenue metrics
  • Work collaboratively with Technical Revenue Accounting
  • Work with external and internal auditors to provide the required support for the quarterly reviews and annual audit
  • Foster proactive working relationships with cross-functional organizations including AR, Marketing, Sales, FP&A, Corporate Finance, IT, and Cost Accounting
  • Participate and support new system implementations, system enhancements and product launches
  • Additional responsibilities or projects, as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Combination of 10+ years’ experience in Big 4 public accounting (or regional firm with SEC clients) and/or a publicly traded company
  • Licensed CPA
  • Experience and knowledge of  revenue accounting related to multiple-element arrangements under ASU 2009-13 (EITF 08-1) and ASU 2009-14 (EITF 09-03), calculations and deferrals under ASC 985-605 (SOP 97-2) and accounting for customer discounts under ASC 605-50
  • Knowledge of new revenue standard (ASC 606)
  • Must possess strong communication & writing skills
  • Strong ERP, revenue management and reporting system skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to identify problems and provide solutions
  • Ability to partner with and influence personnel around the world and cross functionally
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience developing and building teams
