Senior Manager, SAP

Senior Manager, iTero SAP, is an IT leadership position, reporting to iTero CIO, responsible for leading and mentoring a talented group of analysts, developers and testers to deliver business solutions on the current ECC and Future S4HANA SAP platforms. This is a customer-facing role that requires strong leadership skills, a sound technical foundation, a breadth of functional knowledge & the ability to work across multiple teams within IT, as well as business units to realize the goals of ERP-specific projects on Align’s roadmap. It is a challenging position that requires excellent business and technical know-how as well as strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities


  • Drive the strategic roadmap for SAP
  • Get influence and sponsorship for the strategic roadmap
  • Lead a Global SAP group consisting of a talented team of system analysts, developers, and testers
  • Attain a strong knowledge of industry business models and processes
  • Deliver quality and scalable solutions that meet the needs of Align’s digital transformation.
  • Manage resources, plan deliverables/milestones, and oversee the project deliverables with the goal of realizing Align’s roadmap and release plan.
  • Research current trends, along with emerging technologies in related areas and provide insight and analysis on how they may positively or negatively impact the enterprise.
  • Work with project managers and IT lead to provide effort estimation towards future programs and projects.
  • Develop and maintain a governance model and safeguarding to enable releases and changes across multiple line of business

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise


  • Exemplary people leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and leading your team through change. Strong belief in trust and openness as a foundation for engaging with your team and peers.
  • Excellent solution architectural skills, creating scalable integration layers between SAP and other systems (Manufacturing, Logistics and Salesforce as examples)
  • Prior experience in managing teams through multiple full lifecycles of global SAP implementations including at least one S4HANA migration.
  • Must demonstrate a strong track record of delivering results.
  • Ability to assess customer needs and propose scalable solutions that leverage platform capabilities with maximum configuration & little, to no custom coding required.
  • Excellent presentation/oral communication skills.
  • Track record of leading development teams using Agile methodology
  • Excellent project management, communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required, Masters is a plus
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in delivering solutions on the SAP platform.
  • Minimum 12 years of IT/ engineering management experience.
  • Substantial knowledge of IT system configuration, change management, and support.
  • A general understanding of the medical device and life sciences industry is a plus
