Director, System and Services Revenue Accounting
This position is responsible for managing the revenue accounting for the System and Services business segment and will report directly report to the Senior Director, Revenue Management. The role is responsible for ensuring the accurately and timely revenue accounting in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.
This person will have an extensive US GAAP technical revenue accounting background in a multi-element environment and have a proven ability to foster proactive working relationships with cross-functional and global organizations. They will provide leadership of the implementation of revenue accounting policies and procedures on a global basis related to our Systems and Services business.
The role is located in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Role expectations
- Manage the US GAAP monthly revenue accounting close for the Systems and Services segment which includes our iTero digital scanning business and exocad software business within the Revenue Accounting and Global Accounting corporate timelines
- Directly manage and develop a team of Revenue Accountants located in the US and internationally
- Hands-on involvement in the close processes, including approving journal entries, reviewing manual accruals, account reconciliations, fluctuation analyses, and reserve adjustments
- Key participant in monthly and quarterly management reporting process including preparing and presenting results
- Support earnings and external reporting requirements
- Support SSP and deferred revenue estimates process for both lines of business including memo preparation
- Work with external and internal auditors to provide the required support for the internal and external quarterly reviews, SEC reporting, and annual audit
- Support Commercial Finance, Marketing, and Legal team for initial revenue accounting assessment for new sales contracts or go to market programs.
- Collaborate closely with Technical Revenue Accounting team on accounting assessments
- Foster proactive working relationships with cross-functional organizations including Commercial Finance, Operations, Marketing, IT, and FP&A
- Identify and implement business process improvements for the System and Services revenue accounting cycle
- Participate and support SAP roadmap projects and new product launches
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 12+ years of progressive experience - preferably a mix of Big 4 accounting firm experience (preferably at the Manager level) and public companies with multiple, complex revenue streams in a high-growth environment; multi-national experience
- Licensed CPA (active preferred)
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of revenue accounting related to multiple-element arrangements, promotions, and volume discounts under ASC 606
- Proven ability for technical accounting research and documentation of positions
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills as well as ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate, guide and interact professionally with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the organization to drive sound business decisions
- Exceptional organizational skills, project management experience to include management of large-scale/global initiatives
- Experience building and developing staff
- Experience with larger ERP systems (SAP) and related data across a global business
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Pay Transparency
If provided, base salary or wage rate ranges are the range in which Align reasonably expects to set a candidate’s pay for the posted position. Actual placement depends on the individual skills and experience level of a candidate plus the total compensation and equity across team members. For other locations outside of the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically.
For Field Sales roles, the salary listed is the base pay only and does not include the applicable incentive compensation plan. A cost of living adjustment may be added to base pay for higher cost areas in the U.S.
Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
